Violence against women has always been a huge problem in India, but recently the statistics have been escalating at an even more alarming rate. To combat (literally) the issue, Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu is planning on opening a number of self-defense schools in Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata. The goal is to train women ages 13-30 in various styles of self-defense from kickboxing to Krav Maga so that they can feel strong and protect themselves. The centres will offer a week-long crash course to regular ongoing sessions.
