The Golden Globes had many male actors supporting the #MeToo movement with a Time's Up pin. Both James Franco and Aziz Ansari wore the pins and both have been accused of sexual harassment. A photographer using the pseudonym Grace has come forward reporting on the web that the Master of None actor made her feel uncomfortable after their first date.
Apparently, the pair went on a first date after the Golden Globes and engaged in sexual activity after the date. According to Aziz, he believed the encounter was consensual and he actually thought they had a great time, which he texted her the day after. Grace responded saying she was giving non-verbal cues that indicated she did not want to continue. Aziz responded to this allegation stating,
"...It was true that everything did seem okay to me, so when I heard that it was not the case for her, I was surprised and concerned. I took her words to heart and responded privately after taking the time to process what she had said. I continue to support the movement that is happening in our culture. It is necessary and long overdue."
It is stories like these that make others question if the act was consensual or not. With all of these stories surfacing, it is difficult to determine what the true story is in certain situations. Will this allegation impact Aziz's Netflix show? We will just have to wait and see.
