When times are hard, how does one get the energy and the right state of mind to stay positive and strong? We all deal with grief differently and start our healing process in different ways. That is exactly what Scout Penelope's mother was doing. Their family was trying their best to gather all the courage to face scouts grandmother, who was diagnosed by breast cancer. It seems highly impossible to explain to a 3-year old what this means, and how her 'nonnie' will no longer have the strength she did.

Ashley Larson figured it out. Instead of telling her daughter how weak her nonnie might be, she taught her how strong she is, and how strong women are in all aspects of this planet. Larson set out to teach her daughter that the world is full of strong women just like her grandmother and that inspired the photoshoot that is too adorable for words.

Ashley said they needed a distraction to keep their minds busy during the difficult time. “When Nonnie’s hair started to fall out, Scout got very concerned and I wanted to put both of our minds at ease. I needed to teach her and remind myself that women are fighters! We chose famous & fierce women to teach her about the strength that women have,” she said.

She taught scout about each woman on the list and how strong and brave they all are. They planned to create a picture book in the end for Scout and Nonnie to keep and to inspire Nonnie to stay strong and keep fighting.

Here are Scout's adorable takes on these inspiring women;

Malala Yousafzai

Emma Watson

Millie Bobby Brown as 11 from Stranger Things

Ellen Degeneres

Selena Gomez

Adele

Oh and Nonnie? She kicked cancer's ass! She is now cancer-free, happy, and healthy. What an inspiration!
