Prabal Gurung’s pret collection at New York Fashion Week utilized fashion activism to create pieces that were inspired by the Women’s March that took place in January.
The message was to demonstrate the importance of feminism, and that it should be more than just a trending topic. The line was made-up of simple tees that had printed on them multiple phrases taken from the March.
As the models strutted down the catwalk, which included the likes of Bella Hadid, Candice Huffine, and Marquita Pring, they wore shirts that read “The Future is Female,” “Our minds, our bodies, our power,” and “We will not be silenced.”
Gurung has always infused themes of empowered, strong women as something that is a part of his label, and will continue to do so proudly and passionately.
