Since 2011, ANN Inc. has invited young girls across North America to apply for the HERLead Fellowship, a mentorship program designed to mould the next generation of powerful, female world leaders. Fellows are offered the opportunity to attend a four-day long leadership training session in New York City, as well as be mentored by female ANN Inc. executives. The hope is that fellows will return to their respective communities to affect change in ways big small-- ANN Inc. is even offering grants to those who offer particularly innovative project ideas.
In a similar vein, ANN Inc. recently released "This is Ann", a short video that celebrate's the company's 60 year anniversary, and likewise, its 60 year-long tradition of "inspiring women to put their best selves forward every day". The short film is produced by an all-female creative team and serves as a touching tribute to the strong, female mavericks that have come before us and whose shoulders we continue to stand on, even today. You can watch "This is Ann" below:
The video ends by encouraging those watching to apply or nominate a young female student for this year's HERLead Fellowship. Applications are open to students in Grade 10 or 11 attending a high school in Canada, the US, and Puerto Rico. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to leadership and innovation, not to mention the strong desire to help others (women, in particular). If this sounds like you or someone you know, you can apply for the fellowship here before March 18th at 11:59 pm. Good luck!
