The Model Princess: Kendra Spears Marries Prince Rahim Aga Khan

By Kaitlynn Smith American model Kendra Spears, 24 was discovered by FORD Models on Myspace and entered the Supermodels of the World Competition in 2008, becoming a finalist. Her looks gained comparisons to Cindy Crawford and after the competition attention, signed a contract with FORD Models. She is notable for her covers of Vogue China, Elle France, Cover (Denmark), Amica (Italy) and Dazed & Confused. She has also walked in New York and Paris fashion weeks for wide range of designers including Lanvin, Gucci, Chanel, Armani and Versace. The groom, Prince Rahim Aga Khan, 41 is a British national and a 49th hereditary Imam of Ismaili Shi'as, and regarded by his followers as a direct bloodline descendant of the prophet Mohamed himself. Prince Rahim comes from a family that is part of the Iranian royal dynasty. The pair met after supposedly being introduced to each other by Naomi Campbell. The wedding itself took place on Saturday in Geneva, Switzerland at Bellerive Castle after a 4 month engagement. The traditional Muslim ceremony was attended by family and close friends and overlook Lake Geneva from the castle grounds. The bride looked elegant in a traditional white sari embroidered in gold and paired it with jeweled earrings, a tiered necklace and nude sandals. The marriage marks another model who has married into Prince Rahim's family as his mother is a former British model and his brother Prince Hussein married an American model in 2006.
