The Diplomat wears Prada.

By: Parveen Singh Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour is reportedly one of the candidates being considered by President, Barack Obama as U.S. Ambassador to Britain or France. Wintour, was one of the President’s biggest fundraising supporters, during the election. She co-hosted a $40,000-a-plate dinner fundraiser with Sarah Jessica Parker, a $35,000-a-plate dinner with Harvey Weinstein and other events with Gwyneth Paltrow and Tom Ford. These events raised more than $500,000 to go towards Obama’s re-election campaign.  She also helped create a Presidential Fashion Line called “Runway to Win” which brought in $40 million. However, the fashion icon isn’t a shoe-in just yet. She faces tough competition from Finance Chairman, Matthew Barzun and Investment Banker, Marc Lasry. All three were top supporters of the President. Although, Wintour has yet to comment, a Vogue spokesperson, Megan Salt told ABC News they would not confirm if Wintour had been approached or was considering a shift, stating that Wintour is “very happy with her current job.”
