IVY Leagues Calling Upon the Badshah of Bollywood

By Ekta Mukhi

If not Yale, then Harvard it is! Last year Shahrukh Khan, was invited by Yale as a guest lecturer. This year it’s Harvard’s turn to call upon the Badshah of Bollywood, seems to be the start of an Ivy League tradition? I think so!

Who was aware that Shahrukh Khan was an economics major? His exceptional talent in film almost makes you forget he could have done anything other than acting. He is expected to present a lecture on the economics of film making in March 2013, at Harvard.

Shahrukh Khan is not the only superstar that seems to be making his mark in the educational institutions of the Western World. Ranbir Kapoor will also be heading to Yale this year to present a lecture, after bagging many awards for his critically acclaimed performance in Barfi.

Here’s hoping SRK’s trip does not spark the huge controversy that it did last year. After being detained by US customs he managed to joke, “We were detained at the airport as always. For one and a half hours. It was nice. It always happens when I come to America. Whenever I start feeling too arrogant about myself, I make a trip to America”. That’s what we love about our dear SRK, his ability to take everything in his stride along with his jovial and care free attitude.
