Eco Swim & Resortwear to Debut at Startup Fashion Week

2904

Startup Fashion Week is drawing near with a pleasing surprise to beach lovers.

Vesika Pisces, a Mississauga based brand is debuting at the anticipated event, unveiling its new collection of eco-friendly and ethical swim and resort wear pieces. Inspired by endangered pieces, creator and designer Michelle Samantha Walmsley has created an array of bathing suits, cover-ups, and resort clothing using organic cotton, recycled polyester, hemp, and beechwood modal from sustainably managed beech tree farms. She hopes to raise more awareness on environmental issues via her pieces.

Startup Fashion Week is yet to be fully recognized by the public as it sets itself apart from fashion events that involve embracing and celebrating couture and fashion aesthetics and instead focuses on network expansion via congregating aspiring designers and fashion veterans in a series of runway shows and forums.

Jodi Goodfellow claims that her first of its kind event acts as an introductory platform for startup designers and other fashion businesses to thrive at a quicker pace in the Canadian fashion industry.

SFW is set to run from October 16th to the 20th. Tickets can be purchased via the website with a price frame of $5 - $55.
