2697

The recently elected New Democratic Party federal leader, Jagmeet Singh, has made history being the first non-white federal leader in Canada. It is great to see the HEpreneur from our latest issue make such huge strides! Singh is also the youngest leader in the party's history, replacing the leadership role of Tom Mulcair.

Before entering politics, Singh was a defence lawyer that worked with minority groups. Social justice has always been a main objective in Singh's career and now he wants to bring that to his political platform to Ontario and throughout Canada. Singh wants all Canadians to come together during the tragic events that are going on in the world at this time. The politician is going to focus on inequality, climate change, and improving the political system that is currently in place. The NDP National Director, Robert Fox, believes Singh's fresh and youthful perspective will bring great changes to Canada.

When it comes to social media, people have been very vocal that they want to see the charismatic Singh become Prime Minister. Singh is also a martial artist and recognized fashion icon that loves expressing his identity through colourful turbans paired with beautiful suits. Many Canadians are excited to see how Singh will fight for injustice and move forward with his platform.
