Vegetarian & Vegan Spotlight: Paul McCartney

Sir Paul McCartney, the world famous Beatle has been a member of the vegetarian community since 1975! The Beatles were a non-stop phenomenon breaking world wide records that little no band has ever broken since. Paul used his major influence over pop culture to display his believes about animal cruelty and being vegetarian. Paul first decided to go vegetarian with his first wife Linda, who encouraged his animal advocacy.

Ever since, Paul has been a huge advocate for animal rights most famously saying, "if slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be a vegetarian."

This quote led to his involvement narrating PETA's animal right videos titled "Glass Walls", As well as his appearances at numerous PETA campaigns. Paul has also been verbal about his support for campaings such as the Human Society of the United States (HSUS) and the World Society of the Protection of Animals.

In 2009, Paul and his daughters Stella and Mary launched their own campaign Meat Free Mondays. This lead Paul to actively encourage vegetarianism and discourage serving meat during his tours.
