The Bleachers – Not Anna Wintour’s Usual Seat

When the Tuesday debate took place, it was for the audience on the floor to be able to ask questions to the candidates. There were plenty of seats to see President Obama and Mitt Romney take the floor and answer questions from the New Yorkers, however when Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour showed up (a key fund-raiser for the President) she had to step back from her usual front row seat and sit up in the bleachers, with the other VIP’s as the debate went on. Wintour wasn’t the only VIP sitting there, she was amongst writer Hilary Geary and Wilbur Ross, Robert Zimmerman, Long Island Congressman Steve Israel and New York State leader Dean Skelos and Jay Jacobs. A few of the VIP’s that were seated up there were not happy about it, and left early – only to watch the debate in their own private “Spin Room”. The Obama campaign said that they wanted all their “spinners” to be backstage together with the campaign's senior staff. I guess being the Editor-in-Chief still doesn't get you front row seats at the Presidential campaign, but at least it can get you backstage with the campaigns senior staff.
