By Lindsay Cooper Recently spotted on the shoulders of Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau at the Canada 2020 Reception in Washington D.C., Ellie Mae’s designs are on the rise. Founded in Toronto in 2015, the eponymous label started out as an accessories brand and just recently broke into fashion with a line of rock music-inspired jackets.

“My first love was music, my second was fashion. Now I’m getting to marry the two and the result has been something I’m proud to tie my name to” said Waters of her experience merging vintage rock with modern street style.

With demure colours saturating her upcoming spring/summer 2016 collection, the rocker vibes are more obvious in the cut and detailing of the bomber jackets. The outerwear is lined with quotes from rock giants like Johnny Cash, Jimmy Hendrix, and the Beatles, making Ellie Mae’s jackets the most stylish way to wear your inspirations on your sleeve. The designer will also be marking her debut at the Toronto Fashion Week next week and we'd be at the show to bring you our favourite looks from the collection.
