PREEN x ALDO RISE Spring / Summer 2013

By Eloise Alba We watch glamorous shoes tread down the runway each season and sometimes, that’s all we can do—watch. Thanks to RISE, Aldo’s collaborative platform, designers are given a creative space and a medium to reach us, shoepaholics. RISE partnerships have included an impressive roster of names including J.W Anderson, Christian Cota, and Cushnie et Ochs. This Spring, Aldo’s “modern aesthetic that transcends classic style” was seen in the runway of London based design duo Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi of Preen. Having previously executed a successful collaboration with the brand last Fall, the twosome forged ahead, and unveiled another spectacular show for Spring; complete with their iconic synthesis of elegance and whimsy. preen The Spring / Summer 2013 collection features colorful fauna, quite literally. Reptilian prints are blocked with pops of fluorescent yellows, or spliced with cerulean and oxblood pythons. Elegance renders itself in the form of pointy pumps—possibly the most omnipresent shoe trend for Spring together with the ankle strap detail, which the collection has adopted, too. aldo The Preen x Aldo Rise collection is sold in over 25 countries and is worn by high-profile celebrities, high-style luminaries, and high-fashion icons alike. We just got more high hopes. To shop the collection, click here.
