Pink Tartan – A Fantastic Display of Fashion @ the Toronto Fashion Week

904
Fashion has taken over the city. Even though the gloomy weather is not ideal for a stylish event, it hasn’t slowed down the designers showcasing at Toronto Fashion Week. Yesterday the talented designer, Kimberley Newport-Mimran, wowed the audience by doing what she does best – designing for her Pink Tartan label. The overall collection was highlighted by classic design, but revamped and given a little bit more edge to appeal to the fashion savvy customer. The collection showcased her Spring/Summer 2013 line at the Toronto Fashion Week. She stated in an interview how her collection was all about shapes, with exaggerated proportions and statement pieces. She worked with laser cuts to give her pieces those crisp geometric lines, complimented by damask and interesting detail. This show was the first time she designed shoes as well. She said that it was great seeing the shoe she envisioned with the clothes on the runway. Her show was all about the fabrics, shape, texture, and colour. The show was a great way to start off Toronto Fashion Week, we cannot wait to see the pieces hit stores in Toronto!
