Lana Del Rey: New Face of H&M


By: Frances Du New York songstress Lana Del Rey has been tapped by major Swedish retailer H&M to be the new face of their fashion campaign. The 26-year-old singer now joins an impressive list of celebrities (with the most notable ones being pop queen Madonna and footballer David Beckham) who were previously spokespersons for the international brand. Although she is still relatively new to the music scene, Del Rey has already accomplished a ton. Her 2011 debut single “Video Games” currently has over 18 million views on Youtube and despite some missteps (her infamous musical performance on SNL was dubbed “wooden” and panned by several critics), she has since picked up the 2011 BRIT Award for International Breakthrough Act and appeared on the May 2012 issue of Rolling Stone. There has been no word yet whether the collection will be inspired by Del Rey's retro aesthetic, but we have our fingers crossed for sixties-inspired looks!
