Kaelen Haworth looks, SS 15 and Resort Wear

Canadian designer Kaelen Haworth has long been making fashion critics and followers take note of her minimalistic approach to fashion. The New School of Design graduate currently lives in New York from where she runs the eponymous label KAELEN. In 2014, Hayworth was one of the 10 designers selected by the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s (CFDA) Fashion Incubator program. KAELEN’s SS 15 collection is inspired by “Minimal Tropical.” Windowpane plaid, fringe, stripes, and petal prints dictate the ensembles. Kaelen’s choice of colours for the seasons are neutrals, and a palette consisting of pure whites to dull-whites, creams to even tonal blacks. Silhouettes range from structured to draped and free flowing providing something for all. The occasional uses of three-dimensional flowers are the highlight of several looks. The RS 15 collection is more geometric and structured, making use of colour blocking. Black and white stripes, pure white and black window-pane fabrics are in continuation with the SS 15 collection. This collection consists of smart jumpsuits, shirt dresses, cropped pants, peplum tops, and empire style maxis. The RS 15 collection is a rather formal yet fresh take on the resort concept.
