The Citizens Foundation (TCF) is a professionally managed, non-profit organization set up in 1995 by a group of citizens concerned with the dismal state of education in Pakistan. It is now one of Pakistan’s leading organizations in the field of formal education. As of 2014, TCF has established 1000 purpose-built school units nationwide with an enrolment of 145,000 students. TCF encourages female enrolment and strives to maintain a 50% female ratio in most of its campuses. TCF has an all-female faculty of 7,700 members. TCF also has a dedicated Teacher Training Centre in Karachi and Mansehra for the ongoing training of its faculty. About 11,500 jobs have been created in communities in which TCF operates. The Citizens Foundation Canada was incorporated with the objective of providing funds to charitable organizations and/or activities directed at educational opportunities for children in Pakistan. It aims to work towards building a network of supporters and volunteers all over Canada. The Citizens Foundation Canada hosts their 10th Annual Gala and Fundraiser, “Dreams to Reality” on Friday, April 10, 2015 at the Mississauga Convention Centre. With a mission to provide quality education leading to a better future for millions of under privileged children that the organizations serves, the gala focuses on removing barriers of class and privilege thereby turning citizens into agents of positive change.
