Bandra-Worli Sea-Link goes Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

What a great month! The world turns pink to support Breast Cancer Awareness. Just to name a few, The Empire State Building, Sydney Opera House, and Louvre Museum are known for their pink lights. Mumbai's Bandra-Worli Sea-Link decided to follow the trend. The Bridge will remain pink from October 5th to the 12th. Estee Lauder's Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign  founded this initiative. Started 20 years ago, the campaign's popularity has expanded to 70 countires. Estee Lauder herself was responsible for the creating the pink ribbon which has become the universal badge for everyone involved in fighting breast cancer. The theme for BCA's 20th anniversary is courage. This year ,William Lauder, Executive Chairman of Estee Lauder, and other companies dedicated this year's anniversary to his mother, Evelyn. She is known to be a "courageous pioneer" and he lends his support to "all those who have shown courage" whether personally facing breast cancer or standing by a loved one for support. The campaign works closely in Mumbai. It is involved with the Women's Cancer Initiative - Tata Memorial Hospital and Ogaan Cancer Foundation.
