Anthony Vaccarello Steps Down From Versus Versace

1238
And the plot thickens, or perhaps rumours will soon be laid to rest. Last week, after Hedi Slimane’s departure from Saint Laurent, word on the fashion street was that Anthony Vaccarello might be roped in to helm the position of creative director at the French fashion house. Over the weekend, the news moved closer to realization as Versus Versace announced that Vaccarello had stepped down from his position as the creative director at the diffusion line of Versace, the Italian couturier. In a statement released over the weekend, Donatella Versace said, "While I'm sad to see him leave the Versace family, I wish Anthony Vaccarello tremendous success with his next chapter." Vaccarello is a Belgian designer who also shows his eponymous label at Parish Fashion Week every season since he established his label in 2010. Versus, a line geared towards the younger and more adventurous crowd, is an off-shoot of Versace and hosts other designers as well, Christopher Kane and Jonathan Anderson more recently, serving as a fashion incubator.
