70 Reported Dead After Ferry Capsizes in Bangladesh on February 22, 2015

A ferry carrying up to 150 passengers capsized on the Padma River, Sunday afternoon after being hit by a cargo vessel. The river is about 40 kilometers (25 miles) northwest of Dhaka and is one of Bangladesh's largest rivers. According to local police, 48 bodies were recovered on Sunday, while another 22 were recovered on Monday, February, 23, 2015. In addition, rescuers have been able to save at least 50 people. A similar accident occurred in Southern Bangladesh on February 13 this year, killing at least seven passengers.
