By Elodie Chane, SHE Canada French Correspondent The Kelly, the Birkin, le Carré de soie… All three are emblems of one of the most mythical and symbolic French brands. Mythical on one hand by the reference to Hermès, the greek god of travel, and on the other hand by its unique and particular style: elegant and avant-garde at the same time. Created in 1837 by Thierry Hermès, “La maison Hermès” adapted itself though through the decades to become a symbol of French luxury all around the world. Loyal to its origins and formerly specialized in cavalry leather and travel accessories, Hermès has had numerous well-known and talented designers like Jean-Paul Gaultier and Christophe Lemaire bringing forth their personal vision without changing the roots of the brand. Fashion, perfume, jewelry, accessories and even tableware, today Hermès embodies  “le luxe à la française.”
