Interchangeable Heels are Answering Shoe Lovers’ Prayers

Of all the vices to have in this world, a shoe addiction is perhaps the most pitiful of them all. You save up for months to purchase a perfect pair of glittery Mary Janes, only to discover a few weeks later that they only go with at total of, like, 4 outfits. One of them being a Halloween costume. It's a tragedy of Shakespearean proportions, if you ask me.

But wait! German shoe company Mime et Moi has taken heed of our sorrowful cries (are you sick of this hyperbole yet?) and in response, has come up with an ingenious solution. Meet: interchangeable heels.

The greatest development in modern technology since the personal computer (I am hyperbole queen), interchangeable heels allow you to change up your footwear without spending another dime. Well, a dime beyond the initial cost of the detachable heels. Packages start at 105 euros and include a base pair of shoes as well as 5 separate detachable heel styles that you can clip in and out. Options include: flat block, mid-height block, high blocks, stilettos, and super high stilettos. You can see images of all the heel styles here.

Now, 105 euros is not cheap, but when you consider how much you would spend on an equivalent 5 pairs of shoes, it really is a pretty good deal deal. Not to mention, it frees up tons of room in your shoe closet; you can toss the extra heels into a shoebox instead of the typical shoe solution, which is to stack various pairs on top of each into a Leaning Tower of Loboutins.

Unfortunately, Mime et Moi shoes are currently only available in the EU. However, the company hopes to expand globally with their upcoming collection. Here's a link to their Kickstarter, where you can pledge your support and put in your order.
