Toronto Fashion Week AW 16

The flurry of fashion weeks, showcasing AW16 attire came home to Toronto. TFW AW16 was held at David Pecaut Square starting on March 14th.

Style predictions for the upcoming season ranges encompasses everything from dark and edgy to soft and girly. Designers from Christopher Bates, Hilary McMillan and Sid Neigum took over the runway with their newest collection with a few looks that instantly caught our eyes. Here are some of our favourites: GPS_4954 GPS_4698 Helder Diego womenswear line was founded by both Helder Aguiar and Diego Fuchs. The brand this season focused a lot on olive and golden tones with a touch of 90's grunge. The models walked the runway to 'Zombie' by Cranberries and rocked grungy makeup with fishnet stockings and black combat boots.

Toronto native David Dixon dedicated his newest collection to his sister and sister's everywhere after losing his own sibling to ovarian cancer. He played a lot with contrasting his pieces with light and dark and and kept the makeup very simple.

Hilary MacMillan showcased her womenswear line with lots of pink fur with soft and feminine looking pieces. Her models wore their hair slick back with button up long sleeved dresses and pink feather vest.

Talented couple Jennifer Torosian and Raed Ali opened their show with bright patterns and shoulder holes. The indigo and red floral printer surprisingly work well together and is a great way to add a refreshing piece to your Fall/Winter wardrobe.

Ellie Mae made headlines this year when Sophie Gregoire-Trudeau wore a few pieces from her collection in Washington. This month, Ellie Mae premiered her Fall/Winter line at TFW with ripped jeans, dark lipstick and feather jackets. It's all about comfort for her this season.
