Michael Kors will stop using animal fur

2986

Along with Gucci and other luxury fashion brands, Michael Kors has officially announced that it will be joining the fur-free wagon!

The US fashion house will phase out the manufacturing of products that use animal fur by the end of 2018. Luxury footwear brand Jimmy Choo, which was acquired by Michael Kors Holdings this year, will be doing the same.

Michael Kors has been a target by animal activists for years, particularly PETA. A talk at the Metropolitan Museum of Art by the owner was interrupted by protesters during the NYFW earlier this year. A San Francisco fundraising show in 2010 was also raided by PETA advocates proclaiming that Kors is a "Designer of Death."
