By Lindsay Cooper We saw quite a few common themes from New York and London Fashion weeks continuing in Milan, further cementing their place in our makeup bags for Autumn/Winter 2016. The graphic eyeliner first spotted on the faces of the models (and Lady Gaga) at Marc Jacobs in New York further evolved with Fendi, now concentrating more on colourful hues all across the eyelids sweeping into asymmetrical wings.With themes similar to the daring beauty at Mark Jacobs, Fendi also had a similar childhood energy as the beauty at Burberry in London. “She’s a posh girl going to Burning Man,” said the show’s makeup artist Peter Philips, who described the look as “psychedelic, playful, almost childish”. There was a similar psychedelic ‘70’s vibe in hair at Milan as well, with the natural shoulder length (and nearly shoulder width) curls at Gucci. But if you don’t have clouds of hair suitable for a ‘80’s shampoo commercial, don’t fret. We also saw finger curls at Marni and jewel incrusted up do’s at Dolce and Gabbana. Overall, everything in Milan was reflective of what we saw in New York and London, if not just a tad toned down, with the harsh black lips at Fenty x Puma by Rihanna replaced with Bordeauxs at Bottega Veneta and Marni, and graphic eyes made more playful at Fendi.
