SHE Picks: Cushion Makeup

We covered how makeup and beauty trends from Asia, South Korea in particular, have been on the rise in our December/January 2016 issue. One of the most popular trends was cushion makeup and from the looks of latest products being rolled out by beauty brands for 2016, cushion makeup is going to become a norm soon. These 'cushion's combine the ease of a compact with the skin-perfecting benefits of a liquid foundation, the result is mess-free, quick and easy make up. We’ve rounded up some of the cushion makeup options available in Canada and why we like them.

If you want the real Korean cushion experience, Laneige should be your choice. This cushion comes in six shades, making matching your own skintone easier. Available at, $44

Lancôme Miracle Cushion

Soon after Lisa Eldridge returned from her tour of South Korea, she was announced as the new Global Creative Director at Lancôme and a cushion makeup product was one of the first things that were introduced with her at the helm. Offering more colour options, at nine and refills that can be bought when you run out of the original, these cushions are one of the best Western takes on the cushion trend. Promising the even and moisturizing coverage that is the hallmark of Lancôme foundations, this compact is easy to use and handy for touch ups on the go. Available at all Lancôme counters and at Hudson's, $49, $39 for refill

If you prefer au naturel coverage and want to see if cushion makeup is your kind of thing, tap on some of this cushion makeup. Available at all L'Oreal counters, $26.99

Yves Rocher Light Foundation Cushion
