French fashion house Céline has officially appointed a new artistic, creative, and image director, and it is no other than the designer Hedi Slimane! Heading the creative team of Dior Homme from 2000 to 2007 and Yves Saint Laurent from 2012 to 2016, Slimane will replace modern fashion innovator Phoebe Philo who was the creative director of the brand for 10 years.
He will be starting his new position next month with the first collection debuting at Paris Fashion Week in September. As the new creative leader, Slimane will be in charge of introducing couture, men's fashion, and fragrances.
Prior to joining Céline, it was rumoured that Slimane would join Karl Lagerfeld in producing men's wardrobe for Chanel.
