‘American Idol’ Revival Could Return on NBC

2013
It hasn't even been a year since American Idol officially ended, and the show is already reportedly in talks to return on NBC.

Rumours have been swirling that NBC has indeed been in talks with Fremantle Media, Idol's producer, about the possibility of bringing back the singing competition. Airing on NBC would be a switch for the show, as it was previously aired on FOX for all of its 15 seasons, but was cancelled due to a decline in ratings in the show's later years.

NBC is already loaded with talent competitions, with shows like the "The Voice" and "America's Got Talent". From a scheduling standpoint, it could be difficult for NBC to incorporate American Idol into their network without making some serious changes to its current programming schedule.

Representatives from both NBC and Fremantle have not commented on any reports, and so far nothing has been confirmed. As far as judges are concerned, Kanye West has been at the forefront of the conversation for judges in talks to do the reboot of the show.
