Happy Birthday Toronto!

3100

March has come and it is bringing us not only an unpredictable weather but also International Women’s Day as well as Toronto’s 184 Birthday Celebration. There are no doubts that diverse Toronto’s public is willing to congratulate their favorite city to such a significant date.

A four-day party will be held at Nathan Phillips Square in order to celebrate Toronto’s 184th birthday on Tuesday. The party begins on Saturday and is running until the significant day. There will be much of the options for you to mark this event. Likewise, activities include skating parties, food trucks, a market in the square, interactive activities and a photo contest. Fun vibes are promised!

While there are spring vibes outside, She Canada is recapping the city’s history. Toronto was incorporated on March 6, 1834, and William Lyon Mackenzie was elected the city’s first mayor. There are currently 140 neighborhoods officially recognized by the city of Toronto. Before 1998 Toronto used to be a smaller municipality and formed part of Metropolitan Toronto. However, the city has integrated that year and hence, Toronto grew to encompass the former municipalities of York, East York, North York, Etobicoke, and Scarborough.

We are now living in all of these different parts of our diverse city and at that special day, we are united together in order to congratulate our birthday boy. There are many reasons to love you Toronto, but perhaps the best one is that you always have such a vibrant mix of different cultures, even the BBC declared Toronto as one of the most multicultural cities in the world. We wish you always keep such status! Happy Birthday, Toronto!
