By: Frances Du While Karl Lagerfeld usually gets a ton of negative press because of his controversial comments (ahem, Adele), we do love his cheeky sense of humor. In anticipation of the Summer Olympics 2012, Lagerfeld has partnered up with London’s prestigious department store, Selfridges, to open an Olympic-themed pop-up store. Instead of rooting for your home country, you can now purchase sports apparel and accessories from Lagerfeld's "Team Karl" collection which “captur[es] the energy and celebrations around the Olympic Games in the host city of London.” Perhaps the most noteworthy piece from the collection is the limited edition T-shirts he created in collaboration with UK design company I Love Dust, which features images of Lagerfeld wearing his usual black suit and sunglasses while playing various sports. Who knew Uncle Karl was an inspiring Olympian! The Chanel creative director will make a personal appearance at the store's opening/cocktail party on July 24th 2012, three days before the games begin.
