Pumpkin seed oil is used in medicine sand culinary practices  (foods, stews and salad dressing). The oil is gotten from unhusked seeds of pumpkins and has been traditionally made in parts of Europe for more than 300 years.

  • Skin Irritation - Due to its potency, it can cause skin irritation, swelling or redness. For those with sensitive skin, it is safest to do a patch test and wait a couple of hours to see if you will react.
  • Allergies- An allergy to pumpkins means you will be allergic to pumpkin seed oil also. Ingesting might cause stomach problems, vomiting, swollen lips
  • Gastrointestinal distress
  • Heart issues
Note: Pumpkin seed oil is not used as cooking oil because the heat neutralizes the beneficial fats in the oil.
