The brand was founded in 1960 by designer Valentino Garavani and has become an iconic name in the fashion industry. Valentino boasts stores all over the world and sells a range of products from handbags to Haute Couture creations. The oil-rich royal family has been using its wealth to expand Qatar’s horizons and acquire strategic assets all over the world. With stakes in companies such as Louis Vuitton, Porsche, and now Valentino, the royal family is quickly becoming quite the luxury goods powerhouse. In the wake of the Italian recession, Valentino couldn’t be happier with this foreign investment.
