By Tracey Owusu The wait is over and Narendra Kumar Ahmed did not disappoint us with his new bridal collection for The Aamby Valley Bridal Fashion Week 2012. This year, Mumbai was packed with A-list designers from Tarun Tahiliani to Jyostna Tiwari and Narendra Kumar more than held his own as usual. With his blend of western and Indian bridal ideas, he was able to make his debut into bridal a success. Kumar's collection included a wide range of colors, fabrics and materials starting from beige and nude section to vibrant blues and reds. While the color palette of beige, nudes, blues, oranges and reds were simply eye-candy, the highlight of the collection were the innovative material parings such as net and silk pants with beautiful black velvet bodices. It is obvious that Narendra's vision was the incorporation a modern and sexy twist to the elegance of the traditional bridal silhouette. Although this was Narendra's first women's bridal collection, we of course could not forget his men's wear line for which he is famously known for. Men's wear was jsu as impressive with ivory kurta's and double layered short jackets. The wrap neck asymmetric tunics and the satin lapel tuxedo in black velvet over an ivory kurta really tied it altogether for the currently modern bridal fashion.
