The culinary team at MO Bar at The Landmark Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong has created an afternoon tea set (HKD200) inspired by the “shape, colour, print and texture” of Marc Jacob’s adorable Lindy bag from its Autumn/Winter 2012 Collection.
“When creating the tea set, we were inspired by the feminine bow and the punk mini stud infused with 80s style as well as the warm solid colour tone in this autumn’s collection," says Sidney Schutte, Executive Sous Chef at The Landmark Mandarin Oriental. "We instill these design elements through the use of refined details and contemporary colours in the delicious pastries and savouries, reinterpreting the sweet yet sophisticated style of the handbag. I am hoping that this creation will bring an exciting taste experience as well as a smile to each and every one of our guests.”
The Marc Jacobs tea set menu will include delicacies like beetroot horseradish ravioli, smoked turkey spinach quiche, cucumber cream cheese ribbon on crispy sour dough cracker along with desserts like pistachio biscuit layered with strawberry mousse along with a Marc Jacobs Mocktail. Patrons will also receive a free Marc Jacobs gift!
This isn’t the restaurant’s first fashion-inspired menu item. Last year, they designed a vegetarian tea set based on Stella McCartney’s Spring/Summer 2011 Collection.
