Last Thursday, the AIDS/HIV philanthropy amfAR hosted their annual Cinema Against AIDS charity auction and fundraiser. Some of entertainment industry’s biggest names pledged their time and money to increase awareness for the disease. A man at Cannes 2013 has become one of many lucky bidders. 37-year-old Russian businessman, Vasily Klyukin, bid a winning $1.5 million for a journey to blast off into space sitting next to Leonardo DiCaprio. Yes, this is real and not a young girl’s fantasy. The journey will take place on Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic space flight after three days of astronaut training in the California desert.
The two travelers will be joined by hundreds of other people who have paid to experience this once in a lifetime maiden voyage. It has been reported that Tom Hanks, Katy Perry, and Stephen Hawkings will be among the hundreds of people joining Klyukin and DiCaprio.
Klyukin’s voyage may be a fantasy for many young girls but it is not one for Cara Delevingne. The English supermodel reportedly rejected DiCaprio when she was approached – sorry, I mean lunged at -- by the actor who is 18 years her senior. You can’t win them all!
