By: Myrtle Jurado If you're currently suffering from a heat wave where you live (like we are in Toronto), you're going to want to make sure your makeup doesn't melt along with your Iced Cappuccino. But, if you're anything like me, you just don't feel complete without at least SOME makeup on. How can you make sure your skin looks good with the help of makeup, especially in the heat? Ladies, I get it. You want your skin to look flawless and you want it to look that way even when it's practically 40C outside. If there's anything I've learned, it's that most of the time, less is more. If you really would feel more comfortable with some coverage for your skin, try using mineral powder foundations or tinted moisturizers. These are light enough for your skin to breathe through, and they do a pretty good job in covering blemishes. Unless you've been blessed with naturally perfect skin (kudos to you, if that's the case!) finding a good foundation is a serious task. Don't be afraid to try different products, brands, and finishes. What works for others might not work for you, and that's okay. And if you are a loyal cream/liquid foundation user, use it sparingly, and don't forget to finish off with a translucent powder for long-lasting wear. Also, it might be a good idea to carry oil-blotting sheets in your purse. The sheets are made to absorb any oil on your face, giving you a refreshed, matte, "just-did-my-makeup" look. So, whether you use mineral powder, tinted moisturizers, or cream/liquid foundation, just remember to not cake on the makeup; let your skin breathe, and blot, blot, blot! There's nothing worse than feeling like your makeup is oozing off your face. Keep it intact, ladies! Below are my tried-and-true beauty saviors. They might not work for everyone, but they sure work for me!
