First Look at Phillip Lim For Target Collection

By Roxanne Bildan   The moment has finally arrived and 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target is here! After a sneak peek in May, the CFDA winner debuted his designs for the retailer Monday night in New York. The collection definitely looks hip and trendy. 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target collection unveils apparel and accessories for men and women, including groovy shoes, killer bags and hip travel accessories. And I am happy to report that the collection sure does not disappoint. The designer’s collection for Target features the coolest pieces, cooler than was initially anticipated. The trench coat with the blue inserts, the crewneck sweatshirt that says, “BOOM” on it, and the bright orange silk sweater with the white leopard print knit are one of the few items that look increasingly incredible and easily accessible.  Also, it looks like leopard is making a statement throughout the  collection, which was also seen on the runways of other designers at Paris’ fall/ winter show. The purses from the collection are mostly leather, but they all come in different sizes and colors. rs_560x415-130813094850-1024.lim.cm.81313_copy rs_1024x759-130813095518-1024.lim2.cm.81313 Lim said on Target’s website that, “One of the reasons I wanted to collaborate with Target is because I felt that together we could create a collection that would inspire-one that is cool and chic, but still very accessible.” The collection ranges in prices from $19.99 to $299.99 for apparel and $19.99 to  $59.99 for accessories. Not too shabby. Regardless, out of the 100 pieces that were featured Monday night, there is something for everyone, including the men, for whom Lim created a wardrobe that is just as trendy and fashion forward.  Guys can learn a thing or two from the collection and at affordable prices. The collection will hit Target September 15.
