Royal wedding update: Canada celebrates through limited edition coin

1960

With the Royal wedding just less than a week away (and we're super duper excited!!), the Royal Canadian Mint (RCM) commemorated a coin for the upcoming nuptials of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on May 19th. As a limited edition coin, its design was unveiled at the Toronto Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) last week.

The RCM will also be making a donation of $25,000 to the mental health facility in honour of Prince Harry, an advocate for mental health and who visited CAMH last fall during the Invictus Games in Toronto.

The coin was designed by a Canadian artist, Joel Kimmel and featured one of the engagement portraits of the couple. It includes an edged engraving of the Canadian maples leaves and three Swarovski crystals that represented the three diamond stones in Meghan's engagement ring. It also included Prince Harry's coat of arms with the engraved roses and escallop shells on the edging.

Only 15,000 of the coins will be mass-produced and it retails for just over a $100. If you want to add the limited edition coin to your collection, act fast before they're gone forever!!
