Drowned Baby in Mediterranean urges change

Two drowned babies is two too many. Earlier today, a German humanitarian organization, Sea-Watch, distributed a photo of one of their rescuer's holding a drowned baby migrant in his arms. The picture was released in an attempt to persuade European authorities to ensure safe passage of migrants from Libya towards Italy. This baby is among hundreds of migrants who may have drowned in the Mediterranean last week. More than 8,000 people have died in the Mediterranean since the start of 2014. According to Reuters, Sea-Watch said, "If we do not want to see such pictures we have to stop producing them."  That is why Sea-Watch is urging Europe to allow migrants safe and legal passages to enter so smuggling can end and tragedies like this can stop happening.   By Sidra Sheikh Banner Image: Reuters
