Chanel will be launching its first beachwear and skiwear collections

After triggering many environmentalists as well as some fans for his over-the-top "forest" showcase of Chanel's Autumn/Winter 2018 collection, Karl Lagerfield wants to be "extra" again; this time, with the French fashion house's apparel. Yesterday, the renowned designer has announced that Chanel will be releasing its first dedicated beachwear and skiwear collections - Coco Beach and Coco Neige - in the summer.

According to WWD, the idea to produce both lines emerged during Lagerfield's trip in St.Tropez where he noticed that the Chanel store lacked a solid selection of beachwear. Hence, Coco Beach, which will be comprised of swimsuits, bikinis, cover-ups, denim and espadrilles, will be available in 26 seaside stores globally starting in June.

Coco Neige will have a wider distribution and will hit Chanel stores in July and August along with its autumn/winter collection. The "tech-focused" snow capsule will primarily consist of down jackets, salopettes, hoodies, and shearling boots.

Although Chanel has released swimwear and sportswear before, the two capsules are much more concentrated in order to cater to water and snow lovers. Now this is being excessive in a good way.
