Three Trends from the Latest Versace Runway Show

2366
Donatella Versace, chief designer of Versace, continues to create more trends with Versace's Spring 2019 Menswear collection.  Although it was mainly menswear, several woman walked the runway including Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid.  With menswear and womenswear ever blending together, there are many take-aways from this collection for fashion in general and women's style that we will see much of in the coming months/years.  Sometimes runway shows are overwhelming and we are left mesmerized but confused.  It can be challenging to incorporate what we see on the runway into our everyday wardrobe.  Add these three versatile trends to your work or leisure wardrobe.

The first is snakeskin (faux of course).  It is the reign of the animals in fashion these days with leopard, tiger, and zebra print appearing on the latest Tom Ford, Calvin Klein, Diane Von Furstenburg, and Victoria Beckham runways.  Snakeskin was a prominent element in the Tom Ford Fall 2018 Menswear and Ready-to-Wear collections, and now again in Versace; so we know it's going to be big.  We are seeing it in all different colours so it is really quite versatile.  Adding a snakeskin item to your outfit, even if it is just a handbag, will give you an exotic, can-do aesthetic.

This collection featured pinstripe pants, shorts, shirts, vests, and blazers.  Pinstripe keeps going out and coming back in, but Versace is bringing it back with a twist.  Pinstripes with no rules.  Wear a matching set, or don't.  Wear it oversized or with jeans.  This pinstripe is very relaxed and casual.  You can wear it to work, or on your day off; you can wear it anywhere.

Another trend seen on Versace runway is matching sets.  We have seen matching sets in the 90's, but Versace got creative with how the pieces are matched.  Again, Versace applies their "no rules" theme matching shirts with not only pants but shoes and accessories.  You can take these pieces and match them or not match them, wearing them a variety of different ways.  Matching sets are brilliant because they don't make just one outfit, they make several.  Another great staple for  your wardrobe.
